Truck freight is used for heavy items (over 150 pounds) OR items that are beyond the dimensional limitations these companies impose (generally Girth + Length must be less than 165 inches) regardless of the weight.
When truck freight is delivered they will provide you with options on the delivery. Delivery will be brought to your drive or your dock and then you are required to remove it from the truck. Truck freight does offer additional services such as Ground level service which is just that, they will use a lift gate and bring the item down to ground level. This service is used generally on items greater than 150 lbs or more but can be used at any weight.
Another service offered is "inside delivery". Inside delivery requires ground level service and then the freight company will bring the item inside. With inside delivery the freight companies will bring it into the first set of doors. If you are looking for the delivery to be placed in a particular room or brought up an elevator or staircase, then you are looking for white glove service. This service adds generally about $245.00 on top of the basic delivery fee. Also, truck freight companies impose an additional charge if they are required to deliver to a residential address - this charge varies. For limited access areas such as military bases, schools and hospitals and other secure facilities, a trucking company will generally charge an additional $50 for such a service.
Always inspect product upon arrival for any freight damage. If freight damage is found on item(s) the customer should refuse the damaged item(s) in shipment and note the damage on the bill of lading. Always do this to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. If damage is noted on Bill of lading & product(s) are not refused the customer agrees to pay return freight. MystorageCabinets.Com will not file freight claims on behalf of customer if above terms are not followed and it is the responsibility of the customer to file any claims. Remember that it is the job of the freight company to wait for you to inspect the goods and that without you signing off they have no choice but to wait. Inspection means to remove item from box and look at the container due to cases of concealed damage where the box is unharmed but due to rough handling the container has been dented.
